I've been learning a great deal about trust lately. Growing up, I was taught to put all my trust in God. It's something that’s been instilled in me my whole life. I've learned recently, though, that there's a very important second component to that. You have to trust yourself, too. I have to trust myself to execute what I am moved to do or say. I have to trust myself enough to believe that I can use the gifts I have. I have often felt like Jonah in that I’ve run away from the responsibility that comes with purpose. More than once. Other times, I’ve felt more like Moses, like I wasn’t important enough for anyone to care or listen what I have to say.
Trusting God is a beautiful thing but if I don't trust myself enough to carry out the vision or purpose in my life, none of it will ever come to fruition. I will search for excuses and loopholes instead of standing in confidence and courage. That is not a life that yields fulfillment; it will likely breed regret. So I am making an effort to trust myself more, to trust my instincts and to act and speak when I feel moved to do so. I am learning to trust myself with just as much confidence as I was taught to trust God.

Learning to trust myself has been essential to finding my own voice and purpose. I created Love Yourself into a Better Life: A 40-Day Journaling Journey for Finding Your Voice and Purpose to help you do the same. This journal is a space for you to explore your inner world and nurture a deeper connection with yourself. Over 40 days—a significant period representing renewal and transformation in many traditions—you'll be invited to engage in meaningful reflection, cultivate growth-supporting habits, and explore what it means to live authentically. It includes three of my own personal journal entries to help guide and inspire your journey. It's a sacred window of time for real transformation, a journey of renewal where you can release what no longer serves you and step fully into who you are meant to be. It's a deeply personal journey, and I'm excited to share it with you. Click here to learn more about the “Love Yourself into a Better Life” journal and my other offerings.
